Mr. Mateo earned his Juris Doctor at Ateneo de Manila School of Law, Manila, Philippines. He graduated with the distinction of Second Honors and Top 13 of his class. Mr. Mateo also earned a Bachelor of Secondary Education in Mathematics at the University of the Philippines.

Mr. Mateo is qualified to practice Litigation Law, Labor Law and Intellectual Property-Litigation in the Philippines. In Illinois, he works on Federal Immigration and Aviation cases. Mr. Mateo is licensed to practice law in the state of New York.

Mr. Mateo began his career as a Court Attorney IV in the Court of Appeals of the Philippines, and he then was named Junior Associate at Castillo Laman Tan Pantaloon & San Jose Law Offices in Manila, Philippines.
